We have a speical barrel release today! Last Spring, Dee visited Westward Whiskey in Portland. This was to celebrate the winners of the Chocolate City’s Best bartender competition. During the picking process, one barrel in particular got the entire group excited with its notes of yams making its way through the rich coffee and chocolate notes. Hence the barrel’s perfect name: It’s Giving Yams”. Westward continues to lead the way for American Single Malt. If you're looking for a product to try in this category, this is the barrel!
About Chocolate City's Best: Chocolate City’s Best aims to create platforms for Black and Brown people in the food and beverage industry, to connect them with people and educational opportunities that can help them grow professionally. Each year (since 2018), CCB hosts a week-long cocktail competition, filled with seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities that all lead up to a final cocktail showdown, showcasing everything the competitors learned throughout the week, as well as their personal bartending journeys.
