New Private Barrel from Starlight

Starlight is a distillery that needs no introduction. For the last three years they've dominated the private barrel scene. They've lead the way in regards to unique barrel finishes. Today's barrel was finished in a Pineau des Charante barrel. I won't lie. I had to google "Pineau des Charante" the first time we picked one of these barrels. It's essentially the distant cousin, or high proof wine version, of Cognac. The brandy notes add depth and dried fruit notes. The lower proof of the original liquid means it integrates a little easier with the bourbon. If we wouldn't get sued, I'd add an "Edible Arrangements" sticker to this bottle. It's a fruit basket in a glass!
