There's no road map for how to start a whiskey brand. That's what I love about the unique companies we carry at Seelbach's. I first noticed K. Luke Whiskey when Fred Minnick posted this is his Top 100 bottles of 2022. "New blenders like K. Luke and Nassif enter the market with blends worthy of every whiskey lover’s attention." Those are strong words from a palate I trust. Turns out, K. Luke was started by retail owners Jonathan and Jennifer Maisano. After tasting thousands of barrels over the past decade they decided it was time to create their own brand.
We dove into these blends and fell in love with them. The mix of Kentucky and Indiana bourbon works great. There's lots of nice, peppery spice. That is balance with brown sugar and cacao notes.
