We've been loving the new wheated bourbons hitting the market last year into this year, and that continues with Jeptha Creed's new 6-year wheated bourbon! That said, I wouldn't go in expecting anything like what you've had before in a wheated bourbon. The combo of Bloody Butcher and malted wheat unlocks such a unique profile that I can only think of dusty whiskey.
Jeptha Creed 6 Year Old Wheated Bourbon is a towering testament to the Ground to Glass operation. At a minimum of six years old, this pour highlights the delightful effect age has on heirloom corn and malted grains. Crafted with 75% Bloody Butcher Corn and perfectly balanced by 20% malted wheat and 5% malted barley, this wheated bourbon is a smooth sipper with inviting complexity.

Fresh almond croissant, light orange zest, and soft leather on the nose with a very unique, perfumed, earthiness.
For 93 proof this has fantastic viscosity. The palate truthfully isn’t like anything I’ve had before, hitting on a funky profile that crosses dusty whiskey with a wheat whiskey or other malted whiskey profile. Little to no fruit presence here.
Sandalwood, leather, malted caramel sweetness, relaxed spices, but the highlight is in the perfumed lingering, lasting silky and long and reminiscent of old National Distillers.
