Wilderness Trail continues to impress with their whiskey releases. This time it's a 6-year Bottled-In-Bond bourbon. If you're unfamiliar with Wilderness Trail Distillery, here's a little more info:
After years of working with distilleries around the world to provide advice and fermentation products, we launched our premium craft distillery in 2012 with a focus on making the highest quality Bourbon, Rye Whiskey, Vodka and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Rum. Our founders Shane Baker and Pat Heist are fermentation experts with more than 20 years of experience in the production of alcohol and some of the best brands on the market today. Mash bill: 64/24/12 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley
Tasting Notes: The nose pops with initial notes of black pepper, vanilla, and leather. The taste balances between spice and sweetness. There are great pipe tobacco and toasted coconut note. It has a medium finish and draws out the clover, cinnamon, and dried cocoa from the taste. This reminds me of an 8-10-year bourbon from a major distillery.
