The nose is rye spice and cherries. There is a lot of vanilla and caramel. It stays true to traditional bourbon notes. The taste is where it shines. It's velvety even at a higher proof. The dark cherry and blackberry jam notes come out. There are pops of spice with a little mint. The finish is long. You're reminded of the proof but notes of caramel and black pepper linger.
