Circle City Whiskey Company
|Circle City Whiskey Company is an independent bottler of American whiskeys. Deriving from an Indianapolis-based barrel selection group that has immense pride for their Circle City roots, they've humbly served that community by scouring coast-to-coast for the best barrels they could find and bottling them with transparency and integrity. They've certainly benefited from close proximity to Kentucky and excellent Indiana-based distilleries, and have captured the attention of stores and groups throughout the country. They've answered by offering select releases to the rest of the country. We're excited to kick off with two distinct single barrels, one from Kentucky and one from Indiana, as well as their Bottled-in-Bond.
Circle City Bottled-in-Bond
Soft and creamy with notes of caramel, brown sugar, orange peel and dark fruits.
The palate is balanced in proof, red fruit forward with pops of toasted citrus peel and complimented with just the right amount of chocolate, oak, and brown sugar.
The finish is medium-short in length, continuing on with dried dark fruits, toasted vanilla, and oak. Creamy, well-balanced, and easy to reach for.
Circle City H4950H 6 year 119.2 proof Single Barrel
The nose leads with dark chocolate, baking spices, and panettone. The longer it rests in the glass, the more it expands into spiced toffee, dried cherry, and softly nutty oak.
The palate is coating with well aged oak, a myriad of red fruits, and a cinnamon spiced, creamy, peanut butter toffee linger.
The finish is long and trailing, with dry oak, cinnamon butter, and dried cherry. The biggest reward is in the long linger, where you are left with beautiful oak continuing on.
Circle City 1661 7.5 year 127 proof Single Barrel
Rich vanilla, grape candy, and buttercream frosting lead the charge on the nose. Softly toasted citrus peel and honied oak as well. Viscous and inviting.
The palate is gripping right off the bat. Huge waves of charred oak, and thick blackberry, raspberry, and grape notes slowly move down the sides of the mouth. There’s perfumed spice and cola interwoven through each sip before finishing with big lemon custard.
The finish sticks around just as much as the palate does. Long, sticky, and lingering with well aged oak, vanilla, dried fruits, and chocolate ganache.
Delightful.
