This Pinhook Rye is delicious! It's the closest thing I've tasted to some of the great Smooth Ambler rye barrels that used to be available. When the guys from Breaking Bourbon sent me a sample I knew it was a winner. This is a three-year-old rye whiskey, distilled by MGP and aged at Castle & Key. You can read the full story here.

Tasting Notes: The nose is spicy with the addition of caramel. It's tastes like caramelized ginger. There are notes of ginger snaps and citrus. The mouthfeel is thick. After a few sips, it opens up to brown sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest. It's bright with a long peppery finish.
