Blue Grass Distellers
|We get plenty of surprises from distilleries at Seelbach's. There have been numerous times we meet a distillery with aged stock that we didn't know existed. However, that usually doesn't happen with Kentucky brands! A few months ago I jumped on a call with Sam Rock from Bluegrass Distillers.
They began in 2012 with their original distillery in Lexington, KY, but fast forward to 2024 and they are getting ready to open their new distillery at Elkwood Farm, located down the road in Midway, KY. Here, they have taken their devotion to the next level by growing their grains on site, expanding production their capacity, and having a visitor's center and gift shop for guided tastings.
I had seen their bottles before but had no idea they had been distilling for nearly 10-years! Once I dove into the whiskey I was even more impressed. File this under "hidden gem" or I've had my head under a rock. Either way you're going to want to give Bluegrass distillers a try.
