Art of Alchemy Blend No. 2
|
AoA is back with their second blend. This time it is older and more complex! Art of Alchemy is led by Roy Milner. Roy is a founding partner at Blackberry Farm Brewery. He's also been in the beverage space for over two decades. I love the approach they've taken in regards to blending. They're not working to a specific flavor profile or style. They blend until they find the best results. This is often times a much more time consuming process. Roy brings his expertise from the beer world. He also brought in dozens of friends and contacts from the bourbon world. It helps when you're able to lock in rye whiskey barrels distilled by Jim Rutledge! The blend also includes 9-year bourbon from Georgia. This whiskey has popped up in some of my favorite bottles recently and it's fantastic.
About: Our second release is a blend of rare barrels from Georgia and Tennessee with our Kentucky High Rye base. This unique blend is made up of 65% Rye and 35% Bourbon. The process involved multiple sessions, taking into consideration the unique mash bills, ages, and flavors of the three different whiskeys. Similar to Blend No. 1, a portion of the profits from Blend No. 2 will be donated to The Appalachian Impact Fund, a cause that is important to us.
