Proof: 105 Proof
Mash bill: 56% Rye, 33% Corn, 11% Malted Barley
Tasting Notes: A smooth Kentucky-style rye highlighted by loads of mint and herb with a spicy kick that is mellowed out with hints of vanilla, citrus and dried fruit
Seelbach's Notes: Candied green apple nose. Woodsy, caramel coated cherry. Toffee. Softer sandalwood and oak with a kiss of leather.
For as much spearmint and baking spice as it has, it’s all vanilla sugar coated. Dark fruits. Clove. Espresso.
The finish is softly trailing citrus forward, very creamy with cherry and maple syrup and soft oak. This is a delicious, elegant rye.
About the product: Inspired by a champion racehorse whose life was saved by a fateful sip of Kentucky whiskey in 1951, Never Say Die Rye Whiskey is distilled in Kentucky where it ages at least five years before being shipped across the Atlantic Ocean in original barrels, to finish aging in Northern England where it is bottled.
A generous use of corn in the mash bill will remind the drinker of their favorite Kentucky Bourbon, but with the unmistakable flavor, spice and intrigue of a rye whiskey.
