About the Product: Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Rich Drain Distilling in Canton, Mississippi. David Rich founded the distillery to create a whiskey that truly reflected Mississippi’s hot, humid climate. Although the distillery ceased
production in 2020, its whiskey continued to age in Mississippi, and it has
achieved that original vision: a true Mississippi bourbon, born of the Deep
South. Rich Grain Distilling is the first closed distillery we’ve worked with.
Made from 66% Mississippi-grown corn, 17% rye, and 17% malted barley, this
was aged for 7 years in a 30-gallon cask. It has rich, full oak on the nose, with
notes of dates, chocolate lava cake, and a balanced depth and sweetness.
