Tasting Notes: Immediate notes of COQUITO (Puerto Rican egg nog); baking spices, roasted coffee, cracked black pepper, molasses, plum skins. Maple and molasses move to hints of oak spice and dark roast coffee. The palate rounds out with a burst of cloves, allspice and pepper. Mouth watering texture transitions to mouth-drying mid-palate. Long spicy finish.
Story: It spent the final year aging in a 53 gallon barrel from a Jamaican rum distillery. The barrel was originally jack Daniels, it has the stamps but we couldn't find an original date. It looked like it had been around for a long time . There was some rum residual in the barrel and we removed a small amount to taste. It was like taking a sip of asphalt, in the most delicious possible way.
