Wild Common Agave Collection
|
Your bourbon friends probably aren't telling you this, but agave spirits are having a moment. Brands are starting to focus on methods, ingredients, style and execution in the same way we are seeing brands in the craft whiskey space. Tequilas and Mezcals that are additive free, sustainably farmed, traditionally processed and showcasing the uniqueness that comes from terroir from batch to batch.

All Seelbach’s Tequila’s are additive free. Additives are the first thing we look at for on new bottles. If you weren’t aware, up to 1% of additives can be used in bottles labeled “100% Agave”. That celebrity bottle loved for its sweetness and vanilla notes? Yeah, that’s glycerin and sugar-based syrup getting added. Next, we look at production methods. Is it traditional or industrial Tequila? There’s not an automatic disqualifier here. It’s worth highlighting the difference between traditional brick-oven, autoclave, and diffuser tequila. When breaking down the starches in the agave to sugar (think malted barley in a bourbon mash bill) there are different approaches. Agave steamed in brick ovens the size of a large room. This process takes a long time. Wild Common is the newest addition to the Seelbach's Tequila collection. When I started asking people in the industry what Tequila we should carry the same name kept popping up. It's also one of the highest rated Tequila's on most review platforms. After trying their Tequila and hearing the backstory, I was hooked! We've included part of their story further down this email. I also recommend checking out the Instagram Live we did with the Founder Andy Bardon. |
Mission: We’re on a mission to share clean, additive-free tequila and mezcal that honors tradition, community, and the land. To bring people together to share moments today while making a difference for tomorrow.
About The Founder: As a National Geographic Photographer, former Exum Mountain Guide, and athlete, founder Andy Bardon acutely understands that what we put into our bodies and out into the world matters.
While shooting photos in Jalisco, Mexico, Andy met with the Rosales family, whose traditions date back to 1904. They decided to team up and create the cleanest expression of tequila possible to share with the world. Spirits that would help bring people together to laugh, celebrate, and connect as a community for the common good. We invite you to join our journey. Salud About The Distiller: The family-run distillery of Cascahuin (NOM 1123) has traditions dating back to 1904 and is under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Don Salvador Rosales Torres. Along with his sons Salvador (“Chava”), and Benjamin, the Rosales family creates some of the finest tequila on earth. We are proud to partner with this family distillery where tradition, sustainability, and quality matter. And we are honored to help tell their story to a new breed of conscious consumers (NOM 1123). |
