Review: Driftless Glen First Marriage Rye Whiskey
|Recently, Seelbach's was a part of three private selections from Driftless Glen distillery. The Mid-Atlantic Whiskey Lovers Society (MAWLS) initially tasted three barrels of rye whiskey that they loved. They decided one barrel shined on its own while the other two barrels paired nicely in a blend. After tasting the blend, I concurred. Thankfully, Driftless Glen went along with this quirky request and "First Marriage" was born!
Just an FYI we're down to our last couple of cases on this blend and the bourbon single barrel selection.

Driftless Glen Distillery Seelbach's Single Barrel Bourbon
Age: 4-years and 2-months
Proof: 125 proof
Mash Bill: 60/20/20 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley
Barrel Size: 25 gallon
This barrel was selected by Seelbach's. We tasted through 11 barrels to narrow it down to this one! After tasting through the barrels, I selected three that I thought were exceptional. I then blind-tasted these three barrels with four other tasters. Out of the four tasters barrel, #614 was the favorite for three of them. The other taster had it tied for first. This was enough information to know we had something special.
I live in Metro DC, how can I connect with the MAWLS and 1789B? Whisk(e)y Lover for sure.
