New Offerings From Barrell Craft Spirits
|We have four new releases from Barrell Craft spirits. The first is a Barrell Single Barrell rye. This is a 7-year MGP rye that we selected in November. Next, we selected a Barrell Private Select bourbon. The Private Select is a blend of four different ages of bourbon. We chose from five different blends and this one really stood out with its higher rye content. The blend includes 5-year, 9-year, 13-year, 15-year bourbon.
Finally, we have a few cases from the "Dueling Barrels" release that our DC distributor selected. The dueling barrels are labeled as "Sugar" and "Spice". The Prestige-Ledroit team has some amazing palates and they nailed these selections!
As always, if you have any questions, please let me know!

Proof: 113.92 proof
Distillery: MGP Ingredients

Tasting Notes: The nose is sweet, buttery, and full of baking spice. The nose is really complex with depth on both sweet and spicy notes. The taste is orange sherbert and baked apples. There's a little bit of cinnamon. This is a real caramel apple bomb! The finished lingers with plum and breakfast tea.

Tasting Notes: The nose is roasted peanuts and brown sugar. There's a mix of nuttiness and spice. It balances nicely with dark cherries and dried figs. The palate mirrors the nose but in reverse. It starts with the dried fruit. Then that taste moves to the candied almonds and allspice. The finish is long. You start to realize this blend is 50% of 13+ year old bourbon. There are oak and toasted coconut notes. It lingers with saltwater taffy.

Tasting Notes: Nose: This whiskey delivers an incredible amount of spice upfront, cinnamon, red hot, then it's like walking into a coffee shop, coffee, crumb cake, an array of pastries, Twinkies (that’s a pastry right?), glazed donut. PALATE: This whiskey doesn’t deviate too far from the nose with the spiced notes starting with cinnamon again, red hot, subtle peppery burn, leather, coffee cake, and cinnamon raisin cookie, frosted donuts with toasted baking spices and nutmeg. The whiskey finishes spicy with cinnamon topped whipped cream, more of the same red hot spice, frosted donut. The
whiskey has tons of spice, is well balanced with coffee house element and pastry-like sweetness that continues to appear and develop as you enjoy it.
