Hayner Original Rye Whiskey

Happy Monday, friends. Today we are bringing you a resurrected label out of Troy, Ohio. 

In 1866 Lewis Hayner founded the Hayner Distilling Co in Troy, Ohio. Over the next 50 years, Hayner Distilling grew to be one of the largest distilleries in Ohio and the largest mail order whiskey business in the United States. Known for their superior quality, Hayner Whiskey and Bourbon were the preferred drinks across the country

.As we know though, Prohibition closed the doors of many distilleries, including Hayner Distilling.​Now, 100 years later, the Hayner Distilling Co. has been resurrected. From a few surviving bottles, Hayner Whiskey and Bourbon are born again. Partnering with both Bardstown Bourbon Company and MGP, they've been able to create the first Hayner whiskies in over 100 years. 

This Hayner Original 6 Year Rye Whiskey is a double barreled 95/5 Rye whiskey. After spending 5 years in an American Oak cask, the whiskey was dumped and barreled one more time in a new American Oak cask and finished for another year.  

It is dangerously easy to drink, boasting caramel apple and rye bread on the nose, giving way to a a myriad of citrus oils, almond croissant, soft baking spices, toasted vanilla creaminess, and subtle charred oak on the palate.
