Bourb Your Enthusiasm Notes: This one-of-a-kind rye begins with the alluring aroma of blueberry pie as the scent of cooked fruit combines with flaky pastry and lemon zest to greet the nose.
On the first sip, it’s dense Manuka honey that initially hits the palate while touches of cedar, sweet mint tea, and allspice coat the top of your tongue. A touch of tobacco leaf emerges at midpalate before receding to allow the flavors of Rainier cherries and vanilla custard to compete for primacy (Editor’s note: it will require multiple sips to determine a clear winner.)
The flavorful finish introduces a flourish of black pepper spice, sage, and one final coat of organic honey before the taste of singed mint closes the curtains on this surprisingly luscious sipping experience.
Tasting Notes: Juicy, inviting, perfumed and candied lime candy. Peach rings, vanilla syrup, red apple, Starbucks caramel drizzle and sweet oak.
Peach and lime candies mix together like a handful of tropical Skittles. At 102, the mouthfeel is coating and beautiful. There is still a comforting amount of spices, but less discernible to pull apart, especially as the lemon-lime soda sweetness continues to resurge after each visit.
The finish is long and juicy with lots of citrus oils but leans more on decadence - think vanilla, lemon bar, and key lime pie.
