Our FIRST Barrel Proof Pursuit Triple Batch Single Barrel Bourbon

The team at Pursuit Spirits has been on a tear lately, from the success of Pursuit United Double Oak Bourbon and Rye to the release of Sakura Bloom and, most recently, taking home Rye of the Year at the 2026 ASCOT Awards with Pursuit United Triple Batch Rye Barrel Proof. Not only that, but they've done a number of collaborations, including Honey Hog with Matt Pittman of Meat Church, as well as their latest Found Footage collaboration with Shortbarrel. Over the last few years, we've been fortunate enough to pick a handful of Double Oak bourbons and ryes, but for Bourbon Heritage Month, we have another first for us: our first Triple Batch Bourbon Barrel Proof single barrel.

Pursuit introduced the Barrel Proof version of Triple Batch Bourbon and Rye in May of last year, expanding the lineup beyond its original 108-proof expression with both 88-proof and barrel-proof releases. Continuing with their marriage of bourbons from Kentucky, Tennessee, and New York, this blend went into its marrying cask for a year and a half. With over 6 years of total age, this 114-proof bourbon has a composite mash bill of 78% corn, 9% rye, 2% wheat, and 11% malted barley. As much as I personally love their Double Oak Rye, this blend of bourbons is a fantastic example of why they are one of the most talked-about craft NDPs in the game right now.

The nose is clean and sugary, like cane sugar simple syrup, moving into grape suckers, caramel apple, waffle cone, marshmallow fluff, and slightly smoked sweet oak.

The palate is absolutely crushable, with orange Crush soda, brown sugar simple syrup, fresh apple tart, silky toffee, Luxardo cherry syrup, plenty of Hershey’s chocolate syrup, and sweet oak.

The finish is a perfect balance of sweet and spice as it moves toward cinnamon-spiced apples, dried cranberries, and softly toasted sweet oak.
