About:  Green River Distilling Co., an established name dating back to 1885 when John W. McCulloch founded it in Owensboro, KY, has seen its fair share of change over the years. Initially granted the DSP-KY-10 (Distilled Spirits Producer) designation, the distillery faced adversity with a fire in 1914, leading to its closure just before Prohibition. It underwent reconstruction and changed hands among investors until the Terressentia Corporation took ownership in 2014. Jacob Call oversaw the property's restoration to its original design and became the master distiller.

In 2020, the company acquired the rights to the Green River Distilling Co. name, with the approval of McCulloch's great-grandson, Rob McCulloch, and paid homage to its heritage with distinctive bottle features. In the summer of 2022, Bardstown Bourbon Company, renowned for its collaborations and house releases, acquired Green River. Aaron Harris succeeded Call as Master Distiller, selecting barrels from Warehouse B for this bourbon release, known for its "honey barrels." The corn used in the mash is locally sourced from Kentucky farmers. Harris describes the first release as a rich blend of vanilla and baking spices, coating the palate with creamy honey, following the success of their previous Kentucky Bourbon, promising a delightful tasting experience.
