Tasting Notes: Rich and robust right from the nose. Chocolate mousse, soft leather, fresh barrel char, but still sweetened with a bit of vanilla cream soda.
The palate is more thick and coating than I’m used to from Starlight - gripping with leather, coffee beans, charred oak, chocolate pudding pop, dark maple syrup on Belgian waffles, and heavy Demerara syrup. There’s a huge, creamy profile that leans a touch smoked without leaning into the ‘toasted’ profile.
Fruit is more of an afterthought here, giving nods to dark fruits and dried fruits as it fades but never forgetting the darker toned sugars, dark chocolate, and well seasoned oak.
