Tasting Notes: The nose has notes of cinnamon, rich oak, and leather. The palate has hints of molasses, sweet chocolate, pomegranate, and fudge.
Seelbach's Notes: The nose is perfumed and sweet - silky sweet oak, leather, a hint of cigar box, and cocoa powder lead the way with an afterthought of cherry, grape, apricot, and caramel continuing long.
The palate is dangerously candied and creamy - leading with dark berries like raspberry, blueberry, and pomegranate, sweet milk chocolate, and maple syrup coating and slowly clinging to the tongue.
The finish is long and richly silky with cocoa powder and berry covered oak, long and pleasantly dry in a wine-like way.
Product description: Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Rich Grain Distilling in Canton, Mississippi. David Rich founded the distillery to create a whiskey that reflected Mississippi’s hot, humid climate. Although the distillery closed in 2020, its whiskey continued to age in Mississippi, and it has achieved that original vision: a true Mississippi bourbon, born of the deep south.
