Tasting Notes: The nose on this pour is so beautiful and sweet, it’s like cola concentrate poured over a caramel cake. Brown sugar, molasses, candied pecans, raisin, tobacco, and even that warmed leather note I like so much in well aged bourbons.
The palate is dense and syrupy, with tiny waves of smoke to boot. Toffee, coconut, coffee, leather, raisin and plum, and a transition to fresh herbs like thyme and rosemary.
The finish continues with dark fruit and plenty of caramel with a freshly ground coffee note continuing on.
About: This rum represents the tradition, craft and legacy of Demerara rum-making. It is a distinct blend of rums drawn from the French Savalle Still and the Diamond Coffey Still, with a small share coming from the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still. Aged for at least 8-years in ex-bourbon casks, this rum is smooth with notes of dried fruits, oak and dark spices. Exclusively selected by Seelbach's, this special barrel rum was bottled by Demerara Distillers Limited at cask strength.
