Roger Groult 21-Year Calvados - Selected by Aficionado's

Roger Groult 21-Year Calvados - Selected by Aficionado's

Regular price $189.99 Sale

Age: 21-Years

Style: Calvados Pays D'Auge

Cask: #15

Proof: 82.2 proof

Bottle count: 150 bottles

Tasting Notes: Lots of dried fruit. The nose and palate are filled with dried apricots and a touch of smoke. While this may not be the most sophisticated note, there's a rich flavor of McDonald's apple pir filling. That moves to cinnamon and cigar box on the finish.

Story: Our family distillery, created by Pierre Groult in 1960, has been passed on from father to son for five generations. Whilst the traditional Calvados production methods have been preserved, including 100% natural fermentation of the cider and double wood-fired distillation, the Groult family has always done everything it can to enhance its manufacturing processes and to craft the finest eau-de-vies.

You will see the modern press, the 3 antique copper stills, and above all, our majestic ageing cellars where 400 barrels and foudres (from 100 litres to over 13,000 litres) are used for the ageing of our Calvados.

Our distillery and our 27 hectares of orchards are located in Saint-Cyr du Ronceray, in the heart of the triangle formed by Lisieux (13km, Sainte Thérèse Basilica), Orbec (12km, medieval village, access to the A28 motorway), and Livarot (18km, Grandorge cheese dairy).

Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since Prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County uses New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to produce whiskey in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, just steps from the former waterfront distillery district and the legendary site of the 1860s Brooklyn Whiskey Wars. Every drop the distillery sells is made in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
