Sale
Age: 4.5 to 6 years
Proof: 94 proof
Mash bill: Combination 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley and 60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley
About the product: One of the most elegant finished bourbons on the market with a very approachable MSRP. The barrels were married together for 28 days prior to being slow proofed down a point a day to 94 proof. It is an expensive process, but the results are impressive.
It is believed the book Moby Dick (Melville, 1851) contained one of the first references to
bourbon in American literature, “Old Orleans,” a nod to the trip bourbon took by boat down
the Ohio River to the City of New Orleans. During the trip in new charred oak barrels, the
whiskey turned to the deep color we are familiar with. Given the French influence on bourbon,
we thought it was fitting to finish some of the best corn, rye and malted barley mash bill barrels
with toasted French Revere Oak. The result from using this tighter grain expensive wood is an
elegant, toasted aroma and silky mouthfeel found only in the finest whiskeys.
About The Beautiful and The Damned Whiskey House: The Beautiful and the Damned is an award-winning American whiskey house specializing in limited production expressions. Even more rich in flavor than appearance, our obsession is creating highly curated, well-aged whiskeys that are must-tries for all enthusiasts.
