Tasting Notes: Blended from just 75 barrels, this year’s Vertical Series Bourbon showcases a deep nose of burnt orange, brioche, butterscotch, and clove, and leads to a rich palate of brandied cherry, salted caramel, candied pecan, and cinnamon stick.
Seelbach's Tasting Notes: The nose is syrupy and inviting, almost like nosing an old fashioned. Sweet leather and balanced sweet oak open the way to cane sugar cola, maple, expressed orange peel, and candied cashews.
About the product: The Bourbon Vertical Series is a unique opportunity to follow a group of 1,350 MGP bourbon barrels as they age from four to sixteen years, and experience the arc of flavors throughout the thirteen-year journey. Every year, Pinhook selects a group of bourbon barrels from the lot and blends and proofs them to create the most balanced expression of the whiskey at that age. The Vertical Series began with the inaugural 4 Year release in 2019, and the journey continues through annual releases up to age 16.
