We're huge fans of ASW and Georgia Heartwood around Seelbach's, and have offered a wide range of their single barrels through 2025. This 2025 Cigar Batch feels like the best parts of all of them rolled into one! It starts with the same foraged high-wheat bourbon you know from the Fiddler Wheated, Heartwood, and Toasted lineup, 51% corn, 45% wheat, and 4% malted barley, already known for its velvety sweetness and soft oak. It was aged for 7-years and 9-months in various finishing casks ( Jamaican Rum for 5 months, Maple Syrup for 3 months, Tawny Port for 12 months, White Port for 6 months, and Amburana for 5 days.) Bottled at cask strength 118 proof, the final blend is bold and expressive with spice, oak, and layers of fruit-driven sweetness.
 

The nose opens with nice spice notes from the Amburana. Cinnamon Toast Crunch, honeycomb, hints of the maple and blackberry jelly. Sweet and engaging.
 
While some of the finishes are subtle on the nose that start to shine of the palate! Dried fruit, cherry coke and maple candy. Lots of cherry cobbler with a buttery crust. The palate is so well rounded with fruit notes you're not reminded of the proof until the back palate.
 
There's a nice spike of heat and black pepper. This leads to a finish of tangerine, mulled wine and yeast rolls.
