Lost Lantern has always done something we appreciate at Seelbach's. They've made it their mission to seek out unique distilleries across the country, bringing attention to whiskeys and producers that might otherwise go overlooked. But for their Fall 2026 Collection, they're taking a different approach.
For the first time, Lost Lantern has devoted an entire collection to a single distillery, partnering with one of the most recognizable names in Tennessee whiskey: George Dickel.
Working directly with Nicole Austin, Lost Lantern founders Adam Polonski and Nora Ganley-Roper explored the depth of whiskey being produced at Cascade Hollow in Tullahoma, Tennessee. What they discovered was an opportunity to showcase not just the Tennessee whiskey George Dickel has been known for over generations, but several lesser-known styles that the distillery has been producing for years without notice.
The result is three new releases in Lost Lantern's Single Distillery Series, each offering a different look at one of America's most historic whiskey producers.
Lost Lantern Fabled Forest George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey
Fabled Forest is a fresh take on George Dickel's signature Tennessee whiskey. The blend brings together seven casks aged between 11 and 18 years, with roughly a quarter of the final blend coming from 18-year-old whiskey. Rarely released at cask strength, expect powerful oak, notes of black cherry and other stone fruits, and rounded baking spice. This is George Dickel blended specifically for the bourbon nerd.
Lost Lantern Golden Grove George Dickel Straight Tennessee Wheat Whiskey
Made from 100% wheat, this previously unreleased style shows just how much experimentation has been happening behind the scenes at George Dickel. Six casks aged between four and eight years make up the blend, delivering a whiskey with the richness of a wheated bourbon. Very different from either the rye or the Tennessee whiskey, this is a soft, warm whiskey with notes of strawberries and vanilla.
Lost Lantern Wild Woodland George Dickel Straight Tennessee Rye Whiskey
Perhaps one of the most interesting discoveries in the collection is their Tennessee-distilled rye. Wild Woodland offers the first-ever taste of George Dickel’s Tennessee-distilled rye as a standalone release. Bold, deep, and powerful, it reflects the hot, humid climate of Middle Tennessee, with notes of mint, dark chocolate, oak, and generous rye spice.
In addition, we also have our own 7-Year Tennessee Straight Rye Single Barrel as part of this collection. Made from 84% rye, 8% corn, and 8% malt, and aged for seven years in new oak, this is an exciting look at a different side of Cascade Hollow. While a different mashbill, it also shares similarities to some other Tennessee distilled ryes that have been particularly sought after from other producers on the market.
The nose is dense and inviting immediately. Sweet mint, graham cracker, bread pudding, orange blossom honey, key lime pie filling, elegant oak, sugared plums, sage, and a little dusty caramel note.
Silky and coating, yet soft and easy-drinking. Lime candy, vanilla cream, graham cracker, and a unique candied berry note, with a surprising touch of watermelon before transitioning into spiced apple cider and balanced oak.
The finish is semi-juicy and rounded while still showcasing ginger and cracked pepper. A smidge of dark chocolate-dipped strawberry and smoked vanilla bean draw out into a long, layered, custardy linger.
With this collection, Lost Lantern brings its mission of shining a light on undiscovered American whiskey to a familiar name, revealing how much there is still to explore at George Dickel.
