Chattanooga Whiskey Michigan Maple Syrup Cask Finished

Chattanooga Whiskey's limited edition Barrel Finishing Series celebrates the union of Tennessee High Malt into a variety of classic finishing casks. Crafted from a combination of unique whiskey mash bills - all containing at least 25% specialty malted grains - each batch is custom-made to complement the flavor and aroma characteristics of the finishing barrel.

For their seventh finish, CW distillers turned to America’s Upper Midwest—this time selecting late harvest maple syrup casks from BLiS in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While less widely known, Michigan maple syrup is prized by enthusiasts for its small batch, kettle-cooked depth and complexity—especially in the final draws of the season. Exclusively filled with old growth, late harvest syrup, these finishing casks bring layered notes of maple candy, toasted grain, and soft oak, adding a warm richness to the whiskey’s profile.

I know this is a maple finished bourbon, but I cant stop thinking fresh cherries on the nose. Beautifully fragrant, soft cola-like effervescence, and just the perfect amount of dense sugars.

The palate leads with that cherry forwardness just like the nose, and supported by deep cola and sweet oak. At 95 proof, it drinks perfectly voluptuous.

The sip is consistent through the palate, continuing to give fragrant cherry nods, chewy toasted maple and brown sugar, and sweet oak well into a long finish.

 Batch Alpha: Intergalactic Comet Crusher

Infused with at least 42 botanicals, Chattanooga describes Batch Alpha "like having your brains smashed out by a bag of lemons dipped in 42 karat gold."

In the summer of 2015, a craft of unknown origin crash-landed on the roof of the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery. Among the wreckage: a malfunctioning android, blueprints for an intergalactic highway (straight through Earth—don’t panic!), and a glowing green bottle labeled:

“Intergalactic Comet Crusher”

Unable to resist, our distillers took one sip and unanimously agreed it was the best drink in existence. Now, after 10 years of top-secret reverse engineering (and some light time travel), we officially declassify and disclose this extraordinary spirit to the universe.

Dense and creamy, this one has plenty of citrus oils but a vanilla sweetness to boot.

The palate is expansive, layered with citrus to spice to sweetness and back to spice again. Lemon is forward on the palate, but theres so much more going on than that, still with a plump, rounded mouthfeel.

The finish is surprisingly long, dancing with lots of citrus and spices.

Chattanooga Whiskey Founder's 13th Anniversary Blend

Founder's Anniversary Blend is an annual marriage of whiskeys to commemorate Chattanooga Whiskey's anniversary. Formulated each year by their founder, this solera-style expression is blended from 3 one-of-a-kind charred oak solera barrels. Distilled in Chattanooga, TN and Lawrenceburg, IN, this combination of traditional & innovative recipes showcases the dynamic balance between multiple styles & sources of whiskey - each one symbolic of Chattanooga Whiskey's past, present, & future.

Located within our Riverfront Distillery, our Solera Room enshrines 3 unique whiskey styles - all of which utilize our version of the time-honored solera blending process. Each year to commemorate our anniversary, our Founder Tim Piersant evaluates the whiskey within each barrel – trialing various blends to highlight the best of each recipe. After each year’s blend is complete, the distilling team refills each tank with newly mature barrels, where they will quietly marry until the following year.
