The crazy week of bourbon value begins today! You may remember the story of our first Laborer’s Blend last year. This is an in-house bottle that offers a peek behind the curtain of the bourbon world. While chatting with the team at Manifest Distilling during a Seelbach’s Private Reserve bottling, I noticed some unmarked sample bottles. They were tinkering with leftover whiskey from several different bourbon runs, and the buzz around the bar was immediate. That curiosity sparked the idea for Laborer’s Blend.

This second batch uses two of our favorite mashbills from Indiana, and is bottled at cask strength.

It’s not a flashy marketing story, just a bottle born out of honest work and shared passion. A way to honor the people behind the scenes who make the bottles we love possible.

Crafted by the hardworking team behind Seelbach's, Laborer's Blend pays homage to those who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Tipping its hat to the working class, this blended bourbon celebrates resilience and the satisfaction of a job well done. This blended straight bourbon whiskey is the culmination of two distillers' extensive experience. Chris Chenot and Mike Mullis have dedicated countless hours to bringing others' visions to life. Together, they have crafted a spirit they savor at day's end, embodying the essence of a well-earned reward after hard labor. Enjoy the ideal glass of bourbon - your labor deserves nothing less.

Proof: 116.2 proof

Source: Indiana

Mash Bill: 99/1 Corn/Malted Barley & 74/21/4 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley

Tasting Notes: The nose is plush and creamy, full of sweet caramel sauce, gentle orange slice candies, balanced spice, subtle chocolatey nougat, and softly smoked leather. Despite the 116 proof, everything comes together in harmony.

The palate leans into the proof with more punch, highlighting spice wrapped in oak and dark fruits. With each sip, it rounds out further, introducing notes of torched orange peel and vanilla cream.

The finish carries spiced honey and creamy, balanced charred oak, with a reprise of that torched orange peel lingering on the fade.
