Blue Run is back again and this time with their first exploration in a toasted oak product. There are 10 single barrels in total. We will release these barrels sequentially over the next 5 days. Today's release will be barrels 01F and 02F. In celebration of Father's Day, Blue Run asked ten whiskey aficionados from the community to provide tasting notes for the ten double oak single barrels. This is Blue Run’s first whiskey double oaked whiskey. Both barrels are medium toast char #3. The first barrel does the heavy lifting, aging the fine whiskey for the majority of its journey. But before bottling, the handcrafted whiskey is then put into another new barrel for a final finishing that lends extra sweetness from the newness of that char, matching perfectly with the spiciness of the concentrated rye flavors.
