291 Colorado Whiskey Introduces 100% Malted Rye

291 Colorado Whiskey, one of Colorado's oldest grain-to-bottle distilleries. They added a new whiskey to their lineup! The limited-edition 291 All Rye Colorado Whiskey Batch #1 is made with 100% rye malt. The whiskey is then finished with toasted aspen wood staves. These staves result in a rich and nuanced flavor profile. This single malt expression offers unique notes of cinnamon raisin french toast and salted caramel. The unique profile makes it a favorite among whiskey enthusiasts. There were 1,000 bottles of this 132.6-proof whiskey. But, we only have 60 bottles on Seelbach's. For this whiskey, 291 used 50% Colorado Malted Rye from Root Shoot Malting and 50% German Rye Malt from Weyermann Specialty Malting. This release comes on the heels of 291's E Batch 3, one of their first single malt experiments.
