Tasting Notes: The nose is rich sweet smoke, torched milk chocolate, ground nutmeg, dark maple syrup, allspice, and lemon oil.
The palate is ripe cherries, oak spice, cinnamon, ground pepper, raw sugar, dried grass, tobacco, and hints of ginger spice.
The finish is long, with notes of tobacco, torched sugar, oak, cherry skin, and dark chocolate ganache.
About the product: Chairman’s Reserve was first blended in 1999 and was overseen by the then Chairman, Laurie Barnard who conceived a quality rum which was blended using continuous and pot still rums coming on stream after aging. Local demand has been phenomenal and the brand has expanded internationally, where the versatility of the rum makes for great cocktail.
Chairman’s Reserve recently won Gold for Best in Class at the International Wine & Spirits Competition and Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
