About the product: Calvados pays d’Auge is known for its fruit forward and complex brandy that evokes stewed apple and oak spice. While most Calvados is proofed lower for bottling, this 33 year bottling is a cask strength expression of a very long aged Calvados, offering spirits enthusiasts the rare experience of a well balanced Calvados exceeding 80 proof. This one of a kind bottling offers an accurate example of the exceptional apple orchards and distillation of Reux, France.

Tasting Notes: The nose is dense and buttery, with layers of rich caramel, strawberries, and sugared spice reminiscent of fresh apple cider donuts, all while carrying a sweet, earthy oakiness.

The palate is basically liquid apple pie. Gripping and semi-dry, it leads with waves of apple cider and mango tea, moving into fig jam, dried pineapple, dried cherries, and a touch of strawberry vinaigrette.

The finish remains lively and electric, yet coating and saturating as the notes from the palate taper long and slow into a welcomed drying finish of brown sugar, caramel, cooked apples, sweet baking spices, and walnuts.
