ASW Fiddler Steel Plow Rye

About the product:  John Deere’s first steel plow dates to 1837, when rye was still America’s whiskey of choice. In recent years, rye whiskey has experienced a re-surgence. This collaboration unites two, age-old American traditions for the first time. This rye begins in the fields that our great farmers trust. Grains converge in mash, the mash meets copper stills, and with over 8 years in new, charred white oak, this rye whiskey is born.

Fiddler Steel Plow Rye begins as a distinctive rye mash bill consisting of 95% rye, and 5% malted barley. It ages to perfection in new, 53-gallon, char 3  and 4 white oak barrels for over 8 years. The final few months of aging see the introduction of staves of white oak heartwood into the barrel.  ASW Distillery’s Master Distiller harvests the wood from North Georgia, seasons it outdoors for a number of years, then hand-chars each stave to perfection.
