Ever since I tried the Parker's Heritage Wheat Whiskey in 2014 I've been hooked. We've had an incredible run of Wheat Whiskey recently. This barrel was a surprise. At first, I passed because the age statement wasn't all that exciting. After tasting the Traverse City Limited Edition Wheat Whiskey I changed my mind. I'm not sure if this is a special lot of barrels. Or, if the aging environment in Michigan helped these barrels. There were no bad options in the lot of samples. After tasting through many times, we found a barrel we couldn't stop talking about. It started out as sweet dried stone fruit. It finished with a punch of Big Red gum. It's delicious from start to finish.
