I love this day! For the last 12 months, I've been planning, plotting, and tinkering with this release. There were days that I thought it would end up getting shelved. But, after dozens of test blends and design revisions, we landed on a product that is fantastic. It started with two things. The popularity of "Cigar Batch" as an undefined term and Spanish Oak barrels. There's no formal definition for Cigar Blend yet. I wanted to give Seelbach's fans something the market was missing. I tasted a 9+ year bourbon blend that had been in Spanish Oak. Pair that with the fact that most humidors are built from Spanish Cedar, and I was off and running.

The Spanish Oak finished bourbon is deep, oaky, and has lots of tannic structure. I began adding cognac-finished bourbon. It helps balance the blend with sweetness and dried fruit notes. It took adding some 99/1 mash bill bourbon to bring the blend together. There was still a small piece missing. That's where the Amburana barrels came in. It's only 2% of the total blend. And honestly, if it weren't stated on the bottle, I doubt anyone would be able to pick it out as being part of this blend. That small percentage of finished bourbon boosted all the other components. It was like topping a wagyu steak with Fleur de sel before service. I'm proud of how this product turned out, and I can't wait for you to try it.

Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Spanish Oak, Cognac and Amburana Casks

Proof: 118.6 proof

Age: Blend of 10-Year 3-months, 7-year 8-months & 5-Years 3-months

Blended Mash Bill: 85/11/4 Corn/Wheat/Malted Barley

Tasting Notes: The nose begins with roasted candied almonds. Like the type you smell from 100 yards away at the fair that make you sprint to their booth. There's a subtle smoky and leather note as the nose opens up. Baked apple pie and toasted coconut close out the balanced aroma. The palate starts with that same stewed fruit, tobacco, and dark toffee. It's crisp and well-structured. The sweetness of the cognac marries with the rich tannins of the Spanish oak. There's a touch of roasted fruit as it moves into a finish of sweet oak and stone fruit. Layered flavors that don't overpower each other. A delicious pour!

Story: A specialty blend crafted to pair with a cigar. We returned to the essence of a true cigar blend. It should enhance a great stick, not compete with it. It starts on the nose with warm notes from the Spanish oak barrel, evoking the moment you first crack open a humidor. The Cognac barrel brings subtle sweet notes mid-palate. It balances nicely with the first puff of a cigar. Then the Amburana barrel takes over, layering in notes of spice and depth that linger on the finish. The result is a bold, yet balanced pour designed to elevate any premium cigar experience.
