Pinhook Bourbon Collaboration Edition No. 2
|
This is a collaboration is the best way. For this release Pinhook Bourbon teamed up with Garrett Oliver and Still Austin. They produced what is one of the best bottles I've tasted all year. Garrett Oliver is the brewmaster of Brooklyn Brewery. He also won James Beard Award in 2014. Oliver and Pinhook Master Blender, Sean Josephs, worked through barrels distilled by Still Austin. What they created
is a sweet, robust bourbon with great notes of sweet and spice. The color and depth of this whiskey showcase the Texas aging. Some barrels get over oaked in the Texas heat. For this blend it accelerated the aging process. While the bourbon is 4-years old it drinks much closer to an 8-year whiskey. This collaboration will fund 20 scholarships in brewing and distilling to people of color through Michael J. Jackson Foundation. Oliver is chair of the Foundation.
