Continuing with Bourbon Heritage Month, we’re back with one of our favorite releases from Chattanooga Whiskey. It’s been almost a year since our last wheated single barrel, and we’re excited to finally have another one.

Chattanooga makes one of our favorite wheated bourbons on the market, and while we love seeing what they do with their experimental and finished releases, it’s always great to get back to a straight bourbon whiskey. We always love these rare wheated single barrels from Chattanooga, and this one is no exception.

Chattanooga Whiskey Single Barrels are a collection of the company's most beloved “high malt” recipes, presented in their purest single barrel form: uncut and unfiltered. Made from a mash of at least 25% specialty malted grains, each hand-selected barrel showcases a range of flavor characteristics unique to each recipe, and singular to their Tennessee High Malt style. This 4+ year wheated bourbon uses mashbill B005: 75% Yellow Corn, 15% Pale Malted Wheat, 7% Oak Smoked Malted Wheat, 4% Caramel Malted Wheat.

Rich and decadent on the nose with cherries jubilee and toffee crunch brownies. As it opens, the fruitiness erupts, adding a bit of tropical fruit cocktail, orange creamsicle, and sweet oak with a tiny kiss of leather and spice.

The palate begins effervescent and sparkling, with spiced orange peel up top before moving to thicker notes of Cherry Coke float, white pepper, and vanilla-wafer-topped custard.

The finish continues with nips of spice, but lots of round berries and creamy, plush sweetness move into deep, sweet oak, with a sliver of Andes mint chocolate fading into the long finish.

And if you want to keep exploring Chattanooga, we also still have a few other releases available, including the Moldovan Ice Wine Cask Finished, Spring 2022 Bottled-in-Bond, Batch Alpha-1 Intergalactic Comet Crusher, and Anniversary Blend Kit.
