One of our favorite distillers out there, and a team we've worked with since the launch of Discovery and Fusion Batch 1... way back in 2019! It's hard to believe we've been working with them for over six years now, but we are back with two great single barrels that showcase everything Bardstown does best. 

Our last trip to Bardstown Bourbon Company a few months ago was extra special. It was the first time our larger Seelbach’s team was able to pick barrels together. Between too many tasting glasses (and being outvoted on nearly every barrel), we walked away knowing these barrels were something worth waiting for. Coming off the heels of a very hot Ferrand and Discovery 13 release, we’re back today with not one, but two 6+ year single barrel bourbons - our first single barrels from Bardstown in over a year.

 

Bardstown Bourbon Co. Origin Series "Seelbach's 4" Single Barrel Bourbon 114 proof 

Peaches and cream, orange simple syrup, hot chocolate mix, caramel, and fresh sweet cornbread with butter jump right out on the nose.
 
The palate is silky and easy for its 114 proof, showing rich brown sugar, custard-like vanilla, raspberry iced tea with a lemon wedge, fresh leather, spiced pecan, and seasoned oak.
 
The finish transitions into more candy-bar-like notes of toffee, milk chocolate, and nougat, while still carrying a slightly effervescent citrus and fruit brightness alongside lingering sweet oak.
 
Bardstown Bourbon Co. Origin Series "Seelbach's 5" Single Barrel Bourbon 109 proof

Sweet cherries and almond lead on the nose, joined by Tang powder, milk chocolate, and sweet oak.
 
The palate is rich and coating for its 109 proof, offering plenty of dried fruit notes like cherry and raisin, along with caramel, toasted marshmallow, freshly brewed espresso, and spiced almonds.
 
The finish remains coating and plush like the palate, lingering with cardamom-kissed caramel, a touch of toasted coconut, and layers of dried fruit.
