Where the Sourced Whiskey Series from Dancing Goat has always thrived on surprise, their annual release of Limousin Rye has become a bit more expected - but don't read that as any less exciting. What they share is a commitment to delivering delicious whiskey expressions at unbeatable value.

Release #3 of Limousin Rye is an 8-barrel blend of a 51% MGP rye mashbill aged 10.5 years in once-used bourbon barrels, then finished for 6 months in French Limousin oak. This batch is a return to the original lot Dancing Goat used for the first Limousin Rye release. At 11 years old and 124 proof, it’s hard to find many ryes that can beat this one on specs or value.

The nose has a beautiful woodsy tone mixed with thick, creamy caramel syrup, underlying dark berries, fig jam, soft pepperiness, hard root beer candies, torched orange peel, and candied pecans.

The palate is rich and deep, moving from custardy sweetness to well-seasoned oak to mixed spices like clove, ginger, and black pepper.

There’s a juicy, candied red-fruit and citrus quality that emerges with repeated sips, leading into a buttery, cola-like finish, where lovely toasted oak provides the perfect complement.
