Last week we officially closed out the Bardstown Bourbon Co. Discovery Series #10 product page. We thought it was all gone! Thankfully, we were able to get a few more cases in. Bardstown Bourbon Company's Discovery series has been wildly popular since it's inception - in part due to it's wider availability to the more mainstream and well-aged competitors on the market. The Discovery series regularly shows up in folks' favorites of the year lists or winning out in blind battles, and we love to see it.
Vice President of product development for Bardstown Bourbon Co., Dan Callaway described this release as a dream come true. I couldn't agree more! Bardstown Bourbon and Foursquare Rum are two of my favorite spirit brands. Seeing them collaborate came with high expectation. This bottle may exceed those hopes. Seelbach's has released several bourbon and rye finished in Foursquare casks. There is something special about the complexity the rum casks add to a whiskey. I was extremely excited to see what the Bardstown team could do with them. Thankfully, they didn't disappoint! This collaboration is the perfect example of balance. There's harmony of sweet and spice. It bounces between dried oak and caramel candies. Stewed fruit turns to toasted almonds. I hope you enjoy this release as much as I did.
