10-Year, 107-proof Deliciousness

We first introduced you to Ass Pocket Whiskey (APW) a few months ago when Derek Trucks and his brother David joined us in the Seelbach’s studio to taste their Brotherly Release. Today, we’re back with something new: APW No. 4, “The Search” - a 107 proof, 10-year-old bourbon born from a collaboration between Derek Trucks and festival visionary Danny Wimmer.
 
This release marks the first year of a multi-year partnership that unites their shared passions for world-class bourbon, unforgettable music, and community. APW No. 4: The Search, is a small-but-mighty 10-year-old bourbon designed to crack open, share, and enjoy in good company. When we first tried this, we knew it had the kind of markers people look for in a more accessible "bourbon of the year" contender.

The nose is sweetly inviting with a pleasing mix of candied cashews, vanilla ice cream, flat root beer, and a soft combo of spices. 
 
The palate leads with rich leather, espresso, and chocolate that almost lean towards traditional double oak profile in flavor, while sweet cream, caramel, and dark cherry cola all meet with beautiful oak in the mid palate. 
 
The finish is effortlessly creamy and trailing, with plenty of cherry coke float, vanilla cream, and sweet oak.
