Pursuit United Double Oaked Rye Single Barrel 1CF-A-09-RHONE - Selected by Seelbach's

Regular price $89.99 Sale

Age: 4-7 years old

Proof: 108 proof

Tasting Notes: An absolute beast of a rye. The nose is rich and sugary with huge oak presence to boot.  There’s this salted caramel-like fragrance to the nose I often call out in dusty whiskey - the longer it rests you can begin to peel apart layers of dried dark fruits, slightly salted cured meats, and buttery toasted wood notes, like cracking open a hard cream soda fireside.

The palate is viscous and velvety, with this lovely dance of sweet and savory. There’s a beautifully coating tannin down the sides of the tongue, as one end of the flavor pulls towards cranberry and dark cherry pastry while the other pulls towards a slightly smoked caramel.

The finish is deep and satisfying, like a fresh slice of sourdough with sour cherries and warm butter before moving to spiced dark chocolate notes and long linger of sweet oak.

About the product: 1CF-A-09-RHONE Blended in Jan 2025 with 4-7 year Sagamore 52/43/5, Sag 95/5, BBC 95/5.  Filled into a Kelvin Char 4 barrel and then finished for 5 months with French oak Rhone Stave. (Rhone is a type of toast for French winemaking)

Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since Prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County uses New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to produce whiskey in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, just steps from the former waterfront distillery district and the legendary site of the 1860s Brooklyn Whiskey Wars. Every drop the distillery sells is made in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
