Tasting Notes: The nose is bright and vibrant. It starts with ripe cherries, stewed apples and a bit of mahogany. The palate is viscous with dried apricots, cloves and buttered toast. It picks up on the back half of the palate with traditional sweeter fruit and cognac notes. This barrel is incredible well balanced. The finish is medium with a bit of spice and dried mango.

About: Old Elk is a new wave of distillers. They started by sourcing from MGP. They brought on Master Distiller, Greg Metze, as a consultant. Then, Greg moved on from MGP and joined Old Elk full-time as their Master Distiller. They now have a mix of sourced and distilled products. Old Elk produces around 150 barrels a year at their Fort Collins, CO location.
