There’s also an abundance of wood sugars and vanilla custard that reaches the nose just as you raise the glass to your lips. From there, the palate welcomes you with a smoked maple syrup note that fuses with peppercorn, raw mint, malted chocolate, oak, and filo dough. As your senses acclimate to each sip, it gains depth, with stewed apples, pear chips, and freshly cracked black pepper. By the time the moderately lengthy finish begins, the sweet notes leap to the fore with dark honey and creme brulee flavors finally closing the curtain.
