Batch 4
Proof: 117.7 Proof
Blend: This offering is a small batch blend created from a combination of mash bills containing up to 36% Rye from both Indiana and Kentucky. Each blend is a very small batch meticulously blended and then ran through a series of blind tasting rounds before the final blend is decided. Once the final blend is decided the Bourbon is bottled non-chill filtered and barrel strength at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky.
Bottle Count: 705 bottles
Tasting Notes: Oh boy this nose is enjoyable. Rich and creamy, sweet with vanilla but softly aged with warm leather, but balanced and perfumed, floral spice throughout. The nose transforms, and rather quickly from first pour and into the first few minutes in the glass. Red fruits, toasted orange zest, caramel, and modest oak truthfully remind me of another Lawrenceburg distillery with high rye.
The palate is explosive, initially a huge wave of spiced charred oak but continuing with huge brown sugar notes, complimented by milk chocolate, grape soda, and creamy vanilla sweetened red fruits.
The linger is deep - giving nods to toasted whiskies with its rich charred wood and chocolate notes. This sucker has crazy mouthfeel, velvety almost as it sticks to the sides of the mouth.
This is a serious whiskey here, giving a depth and fullness similar to recent barrell batches but an unexpected yet welcomed finish for a brand just appearing on the scene.
Who Is K.LUKE Whiskey Company: After tasting thousands of barrels over the past decade owners Jonathan and Jennifer Maisano decided it was time to create their own brand to share their love of whiskey and family with you. K.LUKE is a tribute to both of their children Kaitlyn and Lucas, please enjoy this Bourbon with Family and Friends as much as they do.
