J. Henry & Sons Four Grain Small Batch Rye

Regular price $54.99 Sale

ABV|Proof: 50% | 100 proof

Mash bill: 64% Spooner Rye, 14% J Henry red heirloom corn, 14% winter wheat, 8% Malted barley

Seelbach's Tasting Notes: Incredibly fruity on the nose - grape juice and rye spices, lazy and sticky honey, caramel apple, roasted pear, brown sugar simple, and coffee.

The palate continues on the chewy and fruity rye spices - caramel apple, lemon meringue pie, and a creamy mix of cinnamon and vanilla.

The finish is nipping with lemon, clove, tea tannins, green apple and caramel.

Flavor profile: This four grain rye whiskey offers an expression that is both soft enough for those new to the category and also intense enough for the seasoned rye whiskey enthusiast. It has a very fruity nose with caramel apple, candied pears, lemon tart and bright citrus fruit. Creamy orange dreamsicle and creme brulee on the pallet balanced with baking spice and cinnamon sugar toasted nuts. The finish is a hearty granny smith fried apple crisp with caramel sauce, earl grey tea with cream, some pipe tobacco, cinnamon spiced pear and lemon tart.

This is a very balanced Rye whiskey, with the red corn and wheat adding more depth and complexity while still maintaining some of the spicy rye kick enthusiasts will enjoy.

Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since Prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County uses New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to produce whiskey in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, just steps from the former waterfront distillery district and the legendary site of the 1860s Brooklyn Whiskey Wars. Every drop the distillery sells is made in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
