Tasting notes: The nose is crisp and toasty, with fragrant smoke and spice. Think smoldering campfire embers layered with light caramel.
About: Toasted-cask finishes have become commonplace across modern bourbon, but for Buzzard’s Roost they remain the defining philosophy, and the 2025 Double Oak Cigar Blend Bourbon is a clear expression of that focus. Built to complement a cigar rather than mimic one, this limited release leans entirely on woodcraft, finishing a six-year-old MGP bourbon (75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley) in custom-toasted, lightly charred barrels coopered by Independent Stave Company using a proprietary, heavy-toast process developed exclusively for the brand.
The bourbon enters and exits the cigar barrels between 105 and 115 proof and bottled at cask strength. They deliver a bold, structured profile designed to stand up to smoke without any contact with tobacco or nicotine — a deliberate shift from the brand’s earlier tobacco-smoked experiments and a reaffirmation that, at Buzzard’s Roost, the cigar character comes from toast, not leaf.
