Ben Holladay 8-Year Old One Barrel #1982 123.3 proof - Selected by Seelbach's

Regular price $99.99 Sale

Age: 8 Year, 3 months

Proof: 123.3 proof

Mash bill: 73/15/12 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley

Source: Holladay Distillery; Weston, MO

Tasting Notes: Beautifully sweet and layered, the nose opens with rich notes of cola and caramel, supported by dark berries, raisin, and grapefruit. A fragrant, nutty oak weaves through, lending a warm and mature complexity.

Rich, elegant, and deeply mature. Flavors of blackberry cobbler and plum lead the way, followed by antique oak, cane sugar, and English toffee with a subtle almond nuttiness.

The finish lingers with softly spiced dried fruits, then deepens into toasted caramel, tobacco, fresh leather, and more of that antique oak.

Bottle count: 186 bottles

Seelbach's Story: Holladay’s home in Weston, Missouri has so much to take in. The rolling hills, limestone springs, and quiet beauty of the place could easily be mistaken for Kentucky, until you learn its story. Founded in 1856, Holladay is the oldest distillery in Missouri and the oldest west of the Mississippi still operating on its original site. Those same limestone springs were first charted by Lewis and Clark in 1804, five decades before Ben Holladay made the land his own.

And this isn’t just bourbon made in Missouri, it’s Real Missouri Bourbon, certified under a 2019 state law that means it must be mashed, fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled in Missouri, aged in Missouri-made oak barrels, and made from Missouri-grown corn.
